Castellan of the Ring

Es ist vollbracht - meine ersten 40k Modelle sind fertig! =D Ich habe mich für die Kataphron Zerstörer entschieden als erstes entschieden, weil sie relativ simpel + größer sind als die Skitarri und weniger Details haben als der Dominus. Es wir wirklich eine Freude sie zusammen zu bauen und zu bemalen. Um einen guten Kontrast zu schaffen, habe ich mich abermals entschieden, Schnee-Basing für meine Armee zu machen. Ich bin super glücklich mit dem Ergebnis und haben auch schon positives Feedback erhalten. Viel Spaß mit den Bildern ;) Der Kastellan hält seine Wache und fröhliche Hobbyzeit bis zum nächsten Mal =)

It is done - my first 40k miniatures are finished! =D I chose the Kataphron Destroyers as my first ones because they seemed relatively simple to do and where bigger than the Scitarri and not so detailed as the Dominus. It was really a joy to assemble and paint them up. Planning to have a good contrast, I again chose to do snow bases and will stick to it for my AdMech project. I am super happy with the results and received already positive feedback. Enjoy the images ;) The Castellan keeps his watch and happy hobbying until the next time =)

 Since I started to like basing, I became interested in the sheer endless ways of how to do it in different ways and styles. I like Winter and I like snow, so after some time I became intrigued by the idea of doing snow bases. My motivation grew when I did some research and found out that it is actually not very complicated to achieve good results. This is the video I drew inspiration from and which also highlights two other possible ways on how to do snow basing: So the question was only - which  miniatures should receive the snow treatment? Numenor already had have of the bases pre-printed and the other half already done with stones and grasslands. But my other army was very fitting - Dol Guldur. Even though the fortress is not that far in the North, to make you instantly think on snow, the design fits in with spirits and ghosts who spread their dark presence and give you shivers.  It was also perfectly fitting because my basing for the Nazgul, Castellans and the Necrom...
