Easterling-Khand Project 03

Image
This time only a small painting update. I finished Khamul on foot and horse. It was very relaxing to paint a bit easier model without that many details. I was able to keep up the lookup of my desired color scheme as well as my Tundra basing. Here the  images to enjoy ;) Next up is what i postponed for a longer time: Working on the main bulk of the Easterling force. The Castellan keeps his watch and happy hobbying until the next time =)

Easterling-Khand Project 02

My E-K project made a big leap during the last month. As mentioned in my last update, I was working on a Khamul on Fellbeast conversion. Khamul is one of my favorite models, both in game and in design. So it was a long-cherished wish to own the model. Sadly there is no official version of him on Fellbeast, even though its the only way to play him, that makes sense. With Orzol Studios, there is a single alternative model and its gorgeous. However, as probably most people can relate,  the masters purse strings - life did not become cheaper in the last years. And so, I let go of the idea to own the model. However I did not let go of my wish. I even managed to grab the official model on foot and horse on the second-hand market. Was there a way the fulfill my dream, without a major conversion? An idea occurred to me when I went through my old Pelennor starter set. I am pretty sure, I will never ever play Morodor or Angmar. So I had no use for the Witch-King. However... Khamul is - besid...

Easterling-Khand Project 01

A new year, a new army project. Or actually two. I decided it was about time to start a second evil army - one that is not all-hero and therefor has more opportunities to be played. Not being a friend of Orcs and even lesser of Goblins, I decided it's gonna be an army of evil humans. After that it what easy because two factions already had been on my radar for quite some time - Easterlings and Khand.  Tried and tested several times in TTS, I knew I liked the playstyle and these would be my forces. In fact, some Khand models had been in my possession for several months and I received a 3d printed Easterling force. But since this army would be much more divers in color and miniatures compared my other armies, I took my time to prepare. I made plan what colors I would use on which models and for which of their parts. I also planned which basing they should receive. After two tournaments earlier this year, I needed a bit of break until I became motivated again to do some tinkering and ...

Battle Report 6.8.2022 - Easterlings & Khand VS Thranduils Halls & Khazad-Dum

Intro This forenoon I played a game in my local Tabletop Simulator League against M. We usesd 773 points and played on a Belfalas map. M won the army dice throw chose his good army, so I played evil. Here my list, which was lead by Rutabi and also included a king of Khand and Khamul: M played Thranduils Halls in an alliance with Khazad-Dum --> Legolas leading Mirkwood elve warriors with gleves and some with bows + one M-cavalry. Durin leading a bunch of hearthguards and a champion of the king, leading a group of vault warden teams. The dice decided that we play pool 3 of the matched play guide, so I had the choice between #1 "Size the price", 2# "Retrival" or 3# "Destroy the supplies". I never played #1 and also never heard anything good about it^^ So under the given conditions, I decided to play #3 since I was pretty sure that my markers would be save and there was a chance for me to catch some of Ms.  When throwing the dice for the side, I won and cho...
