Castellan of the Ring

In den letzten zwei Wochen ist es mir zweimal passiert das Miniatur beim tragen hinunter gefallen sind. Beide Male sind Teile abgebrochen und ich musste sie wieder zusammen kleben. Dies wiederum hat mich an ein Thema erinnert welches ich schon länger im Kopf habe - Welche Materialien werden für unsere Miniaturen verwendet und welche Vor-/Nachteile haben sie? Erlaubt mir euch auf eine kleine Reise durch die Geschichte von Miniatur Materialien in MESBG zu nehmen. Zudem welche wir aktuell haben, was die Vor-/Nachteile sind meine was meine persönliche Erfahrung und Präferenzen sind =) Übrigens: Im Voraus schon danke an alle die mich mit Hintergrundinformationen und anderem Input versorgt haben! Ich werde mich durch die Materialien durcharbeiten und dabei immer diese Reihenfolge beibehalten: Vergangenheit, Gegenwart, Vor-/Nachteile und meine Meinung. Over the course of the last two weeks, it happened two times to me that I dropped miniatures while carrying them somewhere. Once at the Legendarium tournament and once at home. At the tournament it was a Davale Numenor warrior and at home it was a  Slayer of Men Dol Guldur Nazgul. Both times pieces broke off and I had to glue them together again.  This made me recall a topic I turned over in my head already for some time - which miniature materials do we encounter in our hobby and what are the advantages and disadvantages? Allow me to take you on a small tour through the history of miniature materials in MESBG, what we currently have, what the supposedly pros and cons are and my personal experience and preferences =) Btw: Thanks in advance to all people who fueled me with background information and other input while writing this post! Es ist etwas Zeit vergangen seit meinem letzten Update zu meinem Dol Guldur Projekt. Langsamer Bemal-Fortschritt, Probleme mit der Beleuchtung für Bilder etc haben alle dazu beigetragen. Aber jetzt habe ich meinen zuletzt begonnenen Stapel abgeschlossen und schaffte es akzeptable Bilder zu machen. Es brauchte ein paar Anläufe aber letztlich schaffte ich es das Farbschema umzusetzten welches ich angepeilt habe. Der grünliche Stoff ist bei allen derselbe. Die Nazgul und Kastellane haben Blau/Goldene Waffengriffe und Metallklingen mit Biel-Tan Grün und Nuln Oil Shades. Die Rüstung der Kastellane und des Nekromanten verwenden dasselbe + Trockebenbürsten und Highlights. Die Rüstung der Nazgul ist mit Nuln Oil und braune Shades + Highlights. Drei Nazgul fehlen noch und ich werde sie in einem Zug bemalen. Ich bin mit den bisherigen Resultaten sehr zufrieden und konnte sie bereits zweimal in den Kampf führen ;) Der Kastellan hält seine Wache und fröhliche Hobbyzeit bis zum nächsten Mal =)

It is some time ago I posted the last update on my Dol Guldur project. Slow painting progress, problems with finding good lighting for taking pictures etc all contributed to that. But now I finished the current batch of miniatures and was able to make some decent pictures. I took some tries but I was able to realize the color scheme I aimed for. The green for the clothes is the same on all of them. The Nazgul  and Castellans have blue/gold weapon handles and blades of metal with Biel-Tan green and Nuln Oil washes.  The armour on the Castellans and the Necromancer uses the same approach + dry brushing and adding highlights. The armour on the Nazgul is Nuln Oil with brown tones. Three Nazgul are still missing and I will try to paint them in one batch.  I am really happy with the results and they already have proven their prowess in battle ;) The Castellan keeps his watch and happy hobbying until the next time =)
