Castellan of the Ring

Bemalung Ich habe dieses Wochenende genutzt um endlich mit der Bemalung meiner DG Nazgul zu beginnen. Gestartet habe ich mit einem Slayer of Men : Erste Bilder nur mit Base und Shade. Folgend mit den Layer Details. Ich habe ebenfalls mit dem Hexenkönig begonnen und die Base und Shade Farben aufgetragen. Ich muss sagen das ich mit den Ergebnissen sehr zufrieden bin - vor allem mit dem grünen Stoff =) Ich bin noch am experimentieren was die Beleuchtung und Umgebung für meine Miniaturen Fotos betrifft . Vorschläge mich zu verbessern, werden gerne angenommen. ;) Bestellung des letzten Stücks Ich plante ursprünglich die Kastellane direkt von GW zu bestellen. Der Preis von 20 € schien mir in Ordnung und immerhin enthält das Set jetzt drei statt zwei Miniaturen. Allerdings bedeutet dieser Preis auch das ich genau 5 € zu wenig bestellen würde um eine gratis Lieferung zu haben. Die Versandkosten in Österreich sind 9 € - was bedeutet hätte das ein drittel der Kosten nur für die Lieferung drauf g

Painting I used this weekend to finally start painting my DG Nazgul.  I started with one slayer of men: First with base and shading Second with with the layer details I also started the Witch-King with base and shade I am quite pleased with the results - especially with the green robes =) I am still experimenting my lighting setup for taking miniature shots. Suggestions how to improve are welcome ;) Ordering the last piece I thought of ordering the Castellans of Dol Guldur from GW directly since i thought the price tag of 20 € is ok and it now contains three instead of two miniatures. However this meant i was exactly 5 € to low for having free delivery.  Delivery costs for Austria are 9 € - meaning a third of the costs would have been just shipping, which really did feel wrong.  I know its possible to let the delivery go the a GW shop but since the only ones are in Vienna (meaning a travel to the city just for picking up the miniatures) this was only not a viable option if avoidance wo

Intro Am 25.9.2021 besuchte ich mein aller erstes Turnier. Gleichzeitig spielte ich damit auch das Erste Mal nicht Zuhause und mit neuen Spielern. Somit war es auch mein erster Kontakt mit der Community außerhalb des Internets ;) Und es war großartig! =) Das Turnier lief unter dem Namen "Jagd nach Durins Krone" und wurde vom Würfelorden organisiert - einer Spielgruppe in der Region St. Pölten, Österreich. Wer im deutschsprachigen Raum im Hobby unterwegs ist, hat mit Sicherheit schon von den tollen Jungs und Mädls gehört ;) Wir waren 16 Teilnehmer, es wurden vier Szenarien gespielt. Außerdem gab es eine übergreifende "Quest". In selbiger konnten auf jedem Schlachtfeld bis zu vier Bücher/Schriftrollen eingesammelt werden. Tat man dies bedeutete es eine Chance darauf einen Bonus-Preis zu ergattern - also je mehr desto besser. Das Punktelimit betrug 471.  Meine nächste Armee Nachdem ich meine Numenor Armee so wie ursprünglich geplant fertig gestellt hatte (mehr dazu in einem folgenden Beitragt ;)), gab es schon die nächste Idee für ein Armee-Projekt - Dol Guldur! Warum Dol Guldur? Obgleich ich die Hobbit Trilogie nicht sehr schätze, so hat sie mich doch dazu motivierte eine DG Armee zu sammeln, welche sich im Kern um die DG Nazgul dreht. Deren Design ist ein Blickfang und die generelle Atmosphäre der Fraktion im allgemein hat mir sehr zugesagt. Der Nekromant und die Kastellane fügen sich dabei ebenfalls sehr gut ein.  Der Stil, die Hintergrundgeschichte und das Gameplay sind die drei Dinge welche bestimmen ob ich einen Armee mag oder nicht. In diesem Fall konnte ich für die ersten beiden Positionen schon ein Häkchen setzen ;) Der letzte Punkt wurde erfüllt als ich die Regeln für sie gelesen habe.  My next army project After having finished my Numenor army so far (more on the future outlook in another post ;) ) I had already my next army project in mind - Dol Guldur! Why Dol Guldur? Despite despising the Hobbit trilogy, it inspired a great desire to field a DG army and feature the DG Nazgul.  I really admire their design and the spooky atmosphere of DG in general. The Necormancer and the Castellans additionally factor into that. So style, lore and gameplay are the three things that make me like an army or not. So a check for style and lore ;)  The next check happened when I read the rules for them. They sound like a very unusual army and a lot fun. Also t he idea of an all evil spirit army to send fear into my opponents heart inspires great anticipation ;) Another reason was that an evil all-hero army is pretty and rare might give the opponent a hard time to deal with because he lacks experience. Intro On the 25.9.2021 I attended my first ever tournament while also playing for the first time outside of my home and with new players + my first contact with the local community in real life. And it was amazing =) It was named "Hunt for Durins Crown" and was organized by "Der Würfelorden" - a gaming group located in the region St. Pölten, Austria. We were 16 players, it had 4 scenarios + a special quest were on each battlefield, four books/scrolls were hidden. Collecting them gave a chance for a bonus price. The point limit was 471.   Hallo und willkommen auf meinem Blog! Ich dachte mir, was wäre ein besseres Thema für meinen ersten Beitrag in diesem neuen Blog, als die Geschichte wie ich ins Hobby eingestiegen bin ;) Ich habe den ersten HDR Film gesehen als er damals 2001 ins Kino kam und war sofort begeistert. Noch bevor die restlichen Filme raus kamen, habe ich mich durch alle verfügbaren Bücher gelesen und haben beide Welten (Film und Bücher) lieben gelernt. Durch Zufall kam ich ungefähr zur selben Zeit, während des Besuchs einer Modellbaumesse, in Kontakt mit der aller ersten Version von MESBG. Dort habe ich mir das Box-Set "Krieger des Letzten Bündnisses" gekauft. Damals habe ich aber schnell gemerkt das ich mehr Interesse daran hatte zu spielen und sah dass das Bemalen etc eher als ein Hindernis, weshalb ich sie nie wirklich benutzt habe. Ein Freund hatte sehr viel mehr Geld und Zeit zur Verfügung und kaufte sich eine große Isengart und Rohan Armee zusammen, weshalb ich die Möglichkeit hatte mich

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I thought, what better topic to choose for my first post in this new blog, than how i entered into the hobby ;)  I watched the first LOTR movie when it reached the cinema in 2001 and was instantly hooked. Before the other movies released, I read through all the available books and came to love both worlds (movie, books). By coincidence, at the same time i came into contact with with first version of MESBG at a fair for model making. There I bought the "Last Alliance" box. But at that time I quickly realized I was more interested in playing and saw the painting etc more as an obstacle, so I never truly used them. A friend of mine had much more money and time at hand and bought a huge Isengart and Rohan army so I was able to take a deep view at the hobby and play, without having to do anything myself.
