Dol Guldur Project 3

It is time for another update on this project =)

The Necromancer

I was able to pick this model at the beginning of December. I took my time look it up closely, remove the excess metal around the model and find the best position to glue the miniature parts together. This worked ok. However when placing it on the base I quickly realized that I could not use it as it was. There were to many tiny irregularities to give enough surface to glue it together without the danger to easily get lose on the first impact of pressure. So I borrowed a set of  files from my father (thx a lot! ^^) to get rid of them.  It took one evening to find the correct places and slowly but safely remove material where it was needed.  But finally I thought it to be sufficient and voila - they big guy now holds tightly to his base ;)
There are some open spaces between the glued parts, which I will fill with Milliput - another premiere for me^^

Castellans of Dol Guldur

End of November I ordered this set from Fantasywelt.de since they had a reduced price and ok delivery costs. Received it today. All models are undamaged - just one had a slightly bent sword which I could easily move into a correct position. They look great and I cannot wait to paint them =)

Nazgul of Dol Guldur

Last time I showed you some pictures of my first paint jobs on them and I am not satisfied with the result. The greens really does not get through as I expected and the metal looks dull + all details vanish once you are more than one meter away.
I gathered some tips from the FB groups and hopefully I can improve.

Feldherr Miniature Bag

This one was not planned and is not directly connected to my DG project. However I am going to meet a friend at a local store to play some matches, I remembered that so far it was quite a pain to transport my miniatures to places outside of my home. And since by coincidence I heard about the "Feldherr" shop this week, I decided to give it a look. I was positively surprised about the big available range and the quite good prices! So I ordered this bag with inlays for 64 miniatures for around 40 €. And I already like it! Miniatures fit in neatly and it looks good. Finally no more paper wrapping for my warriors and and still having to fear for damage^^

Conclusion

So I finally managed to have all the required pieces for my Dol Guldur project together =D The biggest open point is probably gonna be to find a painting version I am happy with.
Till then, I wish you all happy hobbying ;)
