Easterling-Khand Project 01

A new year, a new army project. Or actually two. I decided it was about time to start a second evil army - one that is not all-hero and therefor has more opportunities to be played.

Not being a friend of Orcs and even lesser of Goblins, I decided it's gonna be an army of evil humans. After that it what easy because two factions already had been on my radar for quite some time - Easterlings and Khand.

Tried and tested several times in TTS, I knew I liked the playstyle and these would be my forces. In fact, some Khand models had been in my possession for several months and I received a 3d printed Easterling force.

But since this army would be much more divers in color and miniatures compared my other armies, I took my time to prepare. I made plan what colors I would use on which models and for which of their parts. I also planned which basing they should receive.

After two tournaments earlier this year, I needed a bit of break until I became motivated again to do some tinkering and painting.

I can now present you the first models I assembled, painted and based - two riders of Khand.

I am happy with the result,  especially since they were my first metal cavalry and working with metal is always a bit delicate.

The basing is supposed to represent a frozen Tundra - snow, ice, cold stone and brow grass tufts. This fits thematically for Khand and will serve as good contrast on the bases of the Easterlings.

It was the second time I used snow on my bases and I used more baking soda this time, to give more mass. So the result is more muddy look.

I already started work on a conversion of Khamul on Fellbeast. But more on that in the next project update ;)

The Castellan keeps his watch and happy hobbying until the next time =)
