Zur Wahl standen "Fog of  War" oder "Clash by Moonlight".

Battle Report 6.8.2022 - Easterlings & Khand VS Thranduils Hallen & Khazad-Dum

Battle Report 6.8.2022 - Easterlings & Khand VS Thranduils Halls & Khazad-Dum

Intro This forenoon I played a game in my local Tabletop Simulator League against M. We usesd 773 points and played on a Belfalas map. M won the army dice throw chose his good army, so I played evil. Here my list, which was lead by Rutabi and also included a king of Khand and Khamul: M played Thranduils Halls in an alliance with Khazad-Dum --> Legolas leading Mirkwood elve warriors with gleves and some with bows + one M-cavalry. Durin leading a bunch of hearthguards and a champion of the king, leading a group of vault warden teams. The dice decided that we play pool 3 of the matched play guide, so I had the choice between #1 "Size the price", 2# "Retrival" or 3# "Destroy the supplies". I never played #1 and also never heard anything good about it^^ So under the given conditions, I decided to play #3 since I was pretty sure that my markers would be save and there was a chance for me to catch some of Ms.  When throwing the dice for the side, I won and cho...

Small factions going big - a good idea? - 01. Numenor

We are at the first entry of this new series and we will start with - what a surprise^^ - Numenor! It is the one I thought of and like the most as you might have guessed by now ;) Current status Numenor currently has two named heroes, one unnamed hero and one warrior choice. The two named heroes are among the best, human factions can muster and the unnamed hero and the warrior have a lot of equipment options. The army bonus is ok (as are their alliance options), everyone near named heroes, receives magic resistance and the warriors feature F 4 and S 4. And while there are better options in alliance partners, Captains of Numenor are really good at what they do. This, combined with the big choice of equipment options, gives this faction more flexibility than you might think on first glance. Drawbacks as a small faction The first drawbacks result from the miniatures themselves. They are among the oldest ones being around in the system and that shows. The heroes are ok but have no official...

Small factions going big - a good Idea? - Introduction

If you followed my blog so far, you might have noticed a tendency regarding the armies I play, collect and write about. I am drawn to the ones that are not mainstream, popular or in general not too often played. Or rather, this is a side effect and just coincidence to align with what I like. It depends on the look, the play style, their lore etc, etc. Nonetheless I am playing and thinking a lot about armies which are, for one reason or another, not so popular. And they all have something in common - very limited profile and miniature selection and/or coupled to that, a a limited number of ways to scale and/or play styles. You maybe can relate - when you really like a faction but are aware of its limitation, you think about how it could/should be expanded by GW to make it more usable - e.g. my thoughts on how to expand Numenor .  But while it was really fun to come up with new profiles, I also thought of the other smaller factions and that probably for each of them, there are ...

Tales of the Past - Introduction

Lately on the MESBG Discord server I frequently visit, there were some discussions and talks about older versions of our beloved system. I am kinda a hobby historian and I have always been fascinated about the past and development of things/systems over time. And therefore an idea started to take form, on how to combine these two things with each other on this blog. I would like to collect experiences and tales from veteran players and then bundle them together per eras, in order to allow a view back into the past. So my first question to my dear readers would be, how to best categorize the time periods/versions of MESBG? I know there was a White Dwarf article with details about that but I don't have it. So I came up with this: First Age: Release of the first sets till the wrap up of the Peter Jackson LOTR movies Second Age: From the end of the movies till the blue ONE RULEBOOK Third Age: Everything released from/for the Hobbit movies Fourth Age: From the beginning of the current v...

Aufstieg des Nekromanten LL Rezension

Image
